Seen at left, the Proctor Silex 59735 Immersion Hand Blender is a very high rated cheap alternative to other models. The design is completely plastic, which turns some people off.
However, people are giving it raving reviews, talking about how the plastic is actually a blessing, not scratching up pots and pans while using it! See, there’s always a bright side to going cheap!
Cheaper Hand Blenders to Avoid
The Cuisinart CSB-77 is the second most popular model of all hand blenders on Amazon’s shopping website. It has over 160 5 star reviews, but looking closely, it has almost as many 1 star reviews. What gives?
The problem is that the teeth that lock the spinning shaft in place are made of plastic, and strip immediately for many people, rendering the blender useless. The motor turns, but the blades don’t! You are better off choosing the cheaper Cuisinart cousin, the CSB-76BC.
The Hamilton Beach 59785 2-Speed blender gets some dodgy reviews. It’s never a good sign when there are just as many 5 star reviews as 1 star reviews.
Some complaints include cracking of the plastic housing, speed button breaking, and poor customer service. This is one to stay away from.
